  • Only one person is allowed in the claim center at any time.

Please have the following documents ready when claiming a prize:

  • A signed winning ticket. (Copies not accepted.)
  • A completed claim form for prizes of $600 and more.
  • Proof of ID such as State-Issued Driver’s License, Military ID card, etc.
  • Proof of Social Security Number. (Social Security number must be on a computer-generated document, such as Social Security card, pay stub or tax forms.)

Players can claim prizes less than $600 at any of our retailer locations.

Prizes of $600 or more can be claimed by mailing in the actual signed winning ticket (no copies accepted) with appropriate documentation and a completed claim form to P.O. Box 290636, Nashville, TN 37229-0636.

Reminder: All claims for drawing-style tickets must be made or postmarked (if mailed) within 180 days after the official winning draw date for that ticket and 90 days after the announced game end date for instant tickets.

About the Tennessee Lottery

As a relative newcomer to the lottery, Tennessee sold its first tickets in 2004. Since then, the Volunteer State has expanded the variety of games, and now offers instant win options, and eight different lottery draws. The Tennessee State Lottery has successfully raised over $5.25 billion for various educational programs since its inception. The TN Lottery employs more than 160 people and has a network of almost 5,000 approved retailers. The Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation was established on June 11, 2003. It’s solely responsible for operating the games and administering the proceeds to benefit the state’s residents.

Tennessee Lottery FAQ

Tennessee Lottery winners can claim prizes of less than $600 directly from any authorized retailer. However, for winnings between $600 and $199,999, you’ll need to go to your local claim center. You’ll find a list of locations at the top of this page.

Alternatively, you can mail your original signed Tennessee Lottery ticket, but keep in mind that it takes a few weeks for processing. Lastly, you’ll need to claim prizes of $200,000 or more at the TN Lottery Headquarters in Nashville.

You can claim your prize within 180 days from the date of the official Tennessee Lottery results. For instant tickets, you’ll have 90 days to redeem your winnings from the time that the game ends.

If your ticket contains Tennessee Lottery winning numbers, then it’s crucial to validate it as your property by signing it. This ensures that no one can lay claim your winnings.

According to law, Tennessee Lottery Tickets can only be purchased from a participating retailer. Online, phone, and mail options aren’t permitted.

All Tennessee Lottery winners are responsible for paying federal taxes. Winnings higher than $600 are reported to the Internal Revenue Service, and you’ll have to present your Social Security Number to claim a prize. However, state taxes don’t apply.

You must be 18 years old and above to legally participate in the Tennessee State Lottery.

No. By law, the TN Lottery is allowed to release details of Tennessee Lottery winners. However, you may remain anonymous if you use a trust to claim the prize.

All scratch tickets have a series of numbers printed on them. These codes are mostly used to verify winning numbers if a retailer’s Tennessee Lottery ticket scanner is out of order.
